MountMeru, the second highest mountain in Tanzania, stands 4566 metres high. An
ideal option for training and acclimatisation for a successive Kilimanjaroclimb. Situated within Arusha National Park as a centrepiece, one is likely to
encounter various wild animals during the initial part of the trek, and
therefore an armed ranger will accompany you throughout your journey. Many
consider this trek physically more challenging compared to the Marangu or
Rongai trail especially due to the steepness in the upper part of the mountain.
During cloudless skies, you may be lucky to glimpse Kilimanjaro from the
summit. The full climb can be attempted within 3 days; however we would highly
recommend the 4 day trekking option.
